Some Urban Imagery Inspirations

The straight architecture and intense construction attracted us at first,  and we thought the girders would be able to bend and twist in interesting ways if their lines were applied to a flexible surface.

The forms of erector sets proved very valuable because of their simplicity and gentle curves.

These historical drawings inspired ideas for connections between pieces of plastic, and suggested possibilities for represented connections between architectural and organic elements.

One idea we kept returning to was a crumbling city as a place of catharsis.
